Remember when I got an anonymous message from someone on tumblr about posting against anti-blackness and anti-racist posts? Basically asking me if I thought I was black, why was I posting about black people so much? 

Yes, in high school I said some really fucked up, racist, anti-black fuckery. I have grown as a person, taken the time to educate myself, and listen to the experience of black folks. Still learning day by day how to decolonlize my mind, and challenge the embedded racism in my thoughts and actions.  

I am biracial, Dominican and White. Mainly raised by my Dominican family. Part of my heritage is from the African Diaspora. Most Dominicans don’t like to admit it, and only highlight their Taino and European roots, but Dominicans are also black! So yeah I wanna post about it, because while I may be light skinned as fuck that doesn’t mean I can’t support the black struggle. If y’all wanna call me out for co-opting or taking to much space as an ally, 100% real. If calling out anti-blackness bugs you, then I’d be glad to send you some readings/literature that I’ve learned a lot from, and if you’re not about it keep it moving.
